Steven Durham has been a Professor at College of the Redwoods since 1974. He has been teaching Human Sexuality at the college for over twenty-five years. His Undergraduate preparation was in Sociology and Psychology, his graduate academic preparation has been in Political science and Sociology (M.A. - Cal State University at Chico) and Media in Education and Society (M.A.- San Francisco State University). He has volunteered and served on the boards of many community organizations including the North Coast Rape Crisis Team, Six Rivers Planned Parenthood, and Men's Alternatives to Violence. His state and national affiliations include the California Anti-sexist Mens' Political Caucus, National Organizations for Changing Men and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.

Nezzie Wade currently teaches in the Sociology Departments at College of the Redwoods and Humboldt State University. She is also working part-time as the Program Coordinator for the Sexual Health Literacy Project, funded by the Ford Foundation. She has been teaching as an Associate Faculty at College of the Redwoods since 1978and was honored as CR’s Associate Faculty of the Year in 2005.
Nezzie was born in Bakersfield , CA where she attended the local community college before relocating to San Jose, then completing another year in community college at West Valley, and transferring on to San Jose State University where she earned undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Psychology and her MA in Sociology, along with the Standard California Community College Teaching Credential in 1972. She has been teaching in a variety of disciplines in the community college and the state university systems since then. Her current emphasis is family and marriage, sexuality and intimate relationships.
Nezzie is involved in many community activities and has long been an activist and organizer at the grassroots level as well as working towards equity and justice within organizations and education and society at large.

Heather Ault joined SHLP in August 2006 as the Website Content Coordinator. Over this past summer, she attended the National Sexuality Resource Center's three-week intensive Summer Institute program. Heather is an Associate Faculty in the Computer Information Science department at College of the Redwoods where she teaches computer literacy courses. She also teaches Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint courses in the community through CR's Community Education Department and Eureka Adult School. In addition to teaching, Heather assists faculty with their technology needs at the Center for Teaching Excellence at CR. Prior to her current positions at CR, Heather completed coursework in Women's Studies at Humboldt State University. She also has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Heather is passionate about the local community, women's history, digital media and is thrilled to be participating in the Sexual Health Literacy Project.
